Redesign of the Stick Carriers

Redesign of the Stick Carriers

The stick carriers, same as the primary chain of the swab machine, have been designed 60 years ago for a speed of 1 stick per second. Today we have reached a productivity of 50 sticks per second. Once the rollers were worn the complete carrier had to be changed. Any different remedy – the change of the individual rollers – damaged the shaper bars over time.

The new carriers provide the following advantages:

  • Easy access to rollers without the need to remove the carrier from the chain significantly reduces maintenance time and associated costs.
  • Worn rollers can now be easily replaced, reducing costs by allowing only the rollers to be swapped while the main body remains in use throughout the machine’s lifetime.
  • The new carriers feature secured pins that cannot come loose, preventing potential damage to the shaper bar.

All machine types of Falu can be retrofitted with the new carrier design
